Brutus, Jinx, Smokey and Figeac are swapping Belgium for Scotland

While couriers J and M walked dogs on the beach at Igoumenitsa in Greece, courier S collected a family of four angelic cats from a beautiful village near Liège in Belgium.

They crossed the Engilsh Channel via Eurotunnel and will now stay with Animalcouriers until their owners reach Scotland early next week. We look forward to getting to know each of these cute characters a bit better during their time with us!

Rendez-vous in Paris with UK-bound Paco, Maya and Garfield

Jack Russell Terriers Paco and Maya travelled with their owners from Italy on the overnight sleeper train, to meet up with Animalcouriers at Charles de Gaulle airport yesterday morning.

Also waiting for us at the airport was handsome ginger tabby Garfield. Although quite happy to have travelling companions, we made sure he couldn’t see them and they couldn’t see him, to avoid anyone getting overexicted!

We all headed straight from the Paris airport to the French port of Calais where we crossed the Channel — and by early evening Paco and Maya were already at their new UK home in Wimbledon. With both Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park practically on their doorstep, these two lucky hounds have lots of lovely walks to look forward to.

Meanwhile Garfield home boarded with Animalcouriers last night and today will be reunited with his owner at their new home in Oxfordshire.

Millie and Suzie are gladly leaving the UK weather behind

Animalcouriers collected Shih Tzus Millie and Suzie from Essex last week. Suzie was a rescue dog who was taken to an RSPCA rehoming centre just in time to meet Heather when she was looking for a companion for Millie.

This lovable pair been homeboarding with us, and have become firm friends with housedogs Billy and Pugsley, and our other houseguest Lola.

They tell us they’re really looking forward to rejoining Heather in Almeria, in Spain, as the UK weather has been dire. “We could have done with two pairs of wellies each this past week,” they say.

Lovely Lola is swapping Scotland for Spain

Lola is becoming a very seasoned traveller. She started life on the streets of Mexico, where Sheila found her and adopted her. Little did Sheila know at the time just what a big part of her own and her daughter’s life this little dog would become. Nor did she realise how much it would all cost — but Sheila would say it has been worth every penny!

Most recently Lola and Sheila have been living in Glasgow. Animalcouriers collected Lola last week, since when she has been homeboarding with us ahead of travelling with us to rejoin Sheila in Marbella, in Spain.

Another exciting journey awaits Lola later in the year, when she will travel to Venezuela, where Sheila has taken up a teaching post at an English school in Caracas.

Alaska, Poppy, Vegas, Big Cat and Alfie from Amsterdam

Yesterday morning Animalcouriers collected 16-week-old Bassett Hound pup Alaska from her breeder in the Netherlands, and by yesterday evening she was in Surrey with her new owner, Ashi.

Also joining our trip back to the UK from Holland were dogs and cats belonging to the Clarke family, who are relocating from Dubai to Inverness in Scotland. The family flew with their pets on KLM as far as Amsterdam, where Animalcouriers met them at Schipol airport. We then started the drive back to the UK with dogs Poppy and Vegas and their feline companions Big Cat and Alfie, while the humans flew directly to Scotland.

Last night the pets homeboarded with Animalcouriers, and today they’re off by road to Inverness for a grand family reunion.

Frankie goes to Rio — in time for the footy

Cocker Spaniel Frankie’s owners are waiting in Brazil for Frankie to join them from the UK. Animalcouriers arranged for Frankie to fly with Lufthansa to Rio de Janeiro via Frankfurt in Germany.

Frankie spent last night homeboarding with Animalcouriers, with a comfy bed and plenty of TLC before his 4.00am start this morning. His flight left London a little later than scheduled — we always keep an eye on the tracking information to check whether flights have left on time, so that we can let pet owners know if there will be a delay. Frankie was checked by a vet in Frankfurt before starting the much longer leg of his flight to South America.

Huka, Sweetpea, Blaze and Princess touch down in London; while Lola and Teddy reach their family in Spain

Lovely Bichon Frise Huka arrived at London Heathrow after his long-haul flight from New Zealand. Animalcouriers collected him from the airport’s Animal Reception Centre and drove him to his north London destination to start his two-month winter holidays.

We also collected intrepid feline trio Sweetpea, Blaze and Princess who arrived at Heathrow from Canada. They’ll have a short stay with Animalcouriers before rejoining their family.

Four Turkish delights, and Bertie comes to stay

Pamuk, Ella, Hilmi and Charlie flew into Heathrow airport from Turkey yesterday afternoon. They’re boarding at a local kennels for a few days before being reunited with their owners in time for Christmas. Although their flight wasn’t affected by the dark, foggy conditions, it did mean that beautiful black Hilmi didn’t show up in the photos, unfortunately!

Meanwhile, little Bertie had a 4.00 am check-in at Gatwick this morning for his flight to Faro in Portugal, where he’ll be spending his Christmas holidays. So he stayed the night with courier S where he quickly made friends with housedog Hugo, the two of them playing well together and sharing toys.

Ten Greek cats via Paris; and an excited family await Iam’s arrival

As we headed north with our passengers from Spain and France, Animalcouriers made for Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. We were there to collect 10 rescue cats who’d flown in from Greece with two members of the Greek Cat Welfare Society, and are heading to fantastic new homes in the UK.

These two doodle dogs have been homeboarding with Animalcouriers while waiting to travel to Italy on our trip that sets off today.

Gorgeous young Labradoodle pup Milly is heading to Venice, while handsome Luca is off to rejoin his family in Perugia. Luca travelled all the way from the US on the QM2.
