Jet-setting pets — Dixie, Sasha and Vikki; Nutmeg; Charlie; and Trygve

Animalcouriers arranged for Spaniels Dixie, Sasha and Vikki to fly home to London Gatwick following a summer holiday in Majorca. Their owners travel a lot for work, so the next flight this intrepid trio takes may be to South America in a few months’ time.

Golden Retriever Nutmeg, who flew to Shanghai just a few days ago is doing well. He overnighted in Hong Kong where he homeboarded with Ferndale Kennels, the Hong Kong pet transport company that took care of the Chinese leg of his journey. Nutmeg’s owner Sinead told us:

“Just thought I would get in touch and let you know Nutmeg has arrived safely and is starting to settle down in his new environment. Thank you for a great service and will be in touch when he returns!”

We also heard from Francene in Barbados that young King Charles Spaniel puppy Rhys — now known as Charlie — arrived safely:

“Thank you again for facilitating and accommodating my purchase of a puppy from Raoul. Everything worked out and the puppy arrived safely. The flight was slightly delayed but the puppy was fine and is now settling in nicely.”

And finally, Norwegian Forest kitten Trygve recently moved from Yorkshire to Singapore. His breeder Loraine was understandably anxious about the move, but was reassured when new owner Carina wrote to say:

“Trygve arrived safely and in good spirits. He very quickly settled in with no signs of jet lag despite the long journey. We would like to say a very big thank you to you and your team for all your help with the arrangements and for being so accommodating to our needs and requests. We also appreciate the promptness with which you responded to our emails which made communication so easy given the time difference between us.”

Nutmeg is swapping the UK for China

Handsome Golden Retriever Nutmeg has an exciting adventure ahead, as he is off to Shanghai. The first step on his epic journey involved being collected by courier D and taken to his vet appointment.

With a bit of time to spare, courier D took Nutmeg to meet his sons, Oliver and Finlay. The boys were so taken with Nutmeg, they’re now petitioning their dad for a dog of their own!

Nutmeg is now homeboarding with Animalcouriers, staying with courier M and his Golden Retriever Amber until it’s time to catch his flight.

Fang reaches the UK from Kazakhstan via Amsterdam

Two-year-old Fang and his owners are relocating from Kazakhstan to England. Because they’re coming from outside the EU, Fang’s UK entry paperwork is a little more complicated than the usual pet passport. The entry requirements include a blood test followed by a three-month wait. With one month to go, he’s now reached the UK where he will spend those last weeks in quarantine.

To complicate matters further, Fang is a very big dog indeed. He’s a Central Asian Shepherd, and his size meant he couldn’t fly directly into the UK, because KLM didn’t have a plane with a cargo hold large enough to take his travel box. KLM therefore routed him from Almaty to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. That’s where Animalcouriers collected him yesterday in our special quarantine van, to drive him non-stop to Airpets at Heathrow Airport where he’ll complete his quarantine period.

It’s taken four companies to organise Fang’s relocation but it’s clearly well worth it. He’s a very laid-back, affectionate fellow with a very endearing nature, as well as a stunningly handsome head and face.

Before being sealed inside his quarantine travel box for the last leg of his journey, Fang was able to have a stroll around the grounds of the animal hotel in Amsterdam, giving us a chance to meet him properly and have a hug

Millie flies to Calgary; Cooper touches down in Ohio; Pickles heads down under

Animalcouriers recently arranged for gorgeous Millie from Manchester to fly to Calgary in Canada. Her owner Jane left Millie in the care of her mum while she went on ahead to organise the family’s new home. It took longer to find pet-friendly accommodation than Jane had expected, but finally she found the perfect pad, and Millie was soon on her way. Jane sent a photo of Millie at her new home, saying:

“I’m pleased to tell you that Millie arrived safe and well in Calgary. It was a lovely family reunion at the airport! Thank you so much for everything you have done to get her to Canada smoothly. It feels like home now she’s here!”

We also heard from the owners of Cooper, the gentle giant of a Rottie who started his journey with us in Italy when we collected him from the Nato Air Base at Aviano. Cooper then flew from London Heathrow to Ohio. His dad Scotty sent us an update and some photos:

“Cooper made it home safe and sound and very happy. He is hanging out with our family in Ohio until we pick him up in a few weeks. Thank you so much for everything you did for us. We couldn’t be more happy with how he was cared for on his journey. From the pictures you posted it looked like he was having a blast and made some new friends.”

Meanwhile cheeky tabby cat Pickles, who travelled with us from Gibraltar in January, flew from the UK to Sydney, Australia, ready to start her new life in Perth with her owner Martin. Animalcouriers recently opened an account with newly established vet practice Vet on the Hill in Caterham in Surrey. It fell to vet Ian to give Pickles her pre-flight check and worming treatment, and wade through the pile of paperwork required by AQIS, the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service.

Jet-setting dogs: Layla to Grand Cayman and Charles to Texas

Yesterday Animalcouriers took Utonagan Layla to London Heathrow to catch her flight to Grand Cayman. It’s the first time we’ve met this breed — a cross between a German Shepherd, a Husky and a Malamute that creates beautiful, gentle dogs, if Layla is anything to go by. The name ‘Utonagan’ comes from a Chinook Indian tale and means ‘spirit of the wolf’. Although these dogs look quite wolf like, there’s no wolf in them at all.

Layla’s owner, who has been studying at Glasgow University in Scotland, retuned to Grand Cayman at the end of the academic year, and now Layla is off to rejoin her. Layla spent a few weeks in kennels in Lanark — a familiar holiday home for her during university vacations. Kennel owners Jim and Angela were there to wave her off, quite sad to see her go as they’ve become very fond of her.

Today it was an early start for little Charles, another interesting cross breed. He’s part Shih Tzu, part Jack Russell Terrier and, at just a year old, is super cuddly. Animalcouriers arranged his flight to Houston and we were at the airport to check him in and put the finishing touches to his paperwork.

Charles is off to rejoin his owner who has been studying fashion at Goldsmiths College in London. Charles, named after Charles Dickens, has been her constant companion during the academic year and will be setting paw in the US for the first time in his life.

Chunky and Lurcher pups head north, Anakin and Bob jet off from Heathrow, and Flup and Sailor reach their new home

Courier M collected two Lurcher Collie cross puppies from breeder Sally Handcock in Sutton Coldfield. These two youngsters, who don’t yet have names, are travelling with us to their new owners in Fife in Scotland. Also on board was lovely tortoiseshell cat Chunky. This chatty, friendly puss is on her way from Sussex to Cumbria.

Meanwhile courier S made sure stunning Siberian Husky Anakin and incredibly cute Shih Tzu Bob got to Heathrow airport in plenty of time for their flights. Anakin from Hove in West Sussex is flying to New Zealand where his owners are relocating. Anakin was originally born and raised in the US, and accompanied his family when work brought them to the UK, so he’s a seasoned traveller who takes flying in his stride.

Bob travelled with us from Lancashire, where his owner shed a few tears at the prospect of even a short time apart. He spent the night before his flight home boarding with Animalcouriers, then it was off Heathrow for his flight to Australia, where he’ll be reuinited with his family.

We also heard from Maddie, who adopted little Greek kitties Flup and Sailor. She says:

“Flup and Sailor arrived this evening! And oh my god are they cute! Flup is best friends with everything and everyone straight away! He’s just a little bundle of love! Sailor is a little unsure but has already settled down some since coming home so I think she will be absolutely fine in no time! Good thing she has her buddy Flup with her!

They really are so so sweet though. I’m in love with them already. They haven’t been formally introduced to Zeus yet as we want them to settle first but he knows something is going on and he’s very excited! We have two weeks off work to slowly introduce them properly so that they become best of friends.”

Black Lab Bo jets off to Mallorca for the summer

Beautiful Bo, who has travelled with Animalcouriers before, spends her summer holidays with her family on the sunny Spanish island of Mallorca.

Yesterday morning we collected her bright and early from her London home and went straight to the vet where she had a health check and her passport was certified to say she was fit to fly. After that Bo had a few hours to relax before her afternoon flight to rejoin her excited family.

Hutch hops across the pond to Washington DC

Animalcouriers recently collected Hutch, a handsome young continental rabbit, from www.dariusbunny.co.uk in England’s West Country and arranged his flight to the US.

Hutch’s American owner Max wrote to say:

“Thank you all so much for the care with my new ‘son’. He follows his ‘big brother’ Odin every where. There was a massive storm so the Customs Agents allowed him to hop around while we waited for it to pass. Finishing touches went on Hutch’s custom hide box to match our media room suite. Custom ceramic bowls came from artist. Food ordered, veg purchased — all that is left is playpen and pram!”

Max runs The Bunny Hutch, an organisation that provides education, rescue, pet care support and rehab. She also sent us some fantastic support bracelets from the ‘Bunnies for Troops’ line, whose proceeds go to wounded worriers.

Biscuit flies to Malta; and Penelope is having a lovely time in Greece

Gorgeous rescue Staffordshire cross Biscuit spent Monday night with Animalcouriers. Yesterday she enjoyed an early morning walk in the English countryside before we took her to London Gatwick airport for her flight to Malta. This lucky girl is off to start a new life with a new family under the Maltese sun. We’re sure many happy days await her.

Meanwhile we received news and photos of English Bull Terrier Penelope, who recently travelled with us to Greece. She’s spending several months in Spetses with her owners Sophie and Matt, and looks set to travel back to the UK with us after the summer.

Little Vlads is heading for Bermuda

Eight-week-old Cockadoodle Vlads is travelling all the way from England to Bermuda. Animalcouriers collected this puppy in Lincolnshire and drove him to Surrey, where he’ll homeboard with us until his papers are ready for him to fly.

We know L will thoroughly enjoy looking after him until he’s ready to head off to join his excited new family in Bermuda.

We’d like to wish all our followers and friends a very Happy Easter — what better way to celebrate than with a little puppy porn!
