After lengthy process of quarantine and flights that started in Oman and went via the UK, the Omani bin boys Syko and Nero have been reunited with Carol in Australia. From what Carol tells us, it sounds as though they settled in straight away:
“A big thank you to all who got Syko and Nero here to live with us in Australia. They have settled in well and in the space of 24 hours it was as though they were never away from us!
They have plenty of space including a ‘caboodle’ which lets them go outside through a cat flap but is encased in a cat net. This makes sure they do not decimate the local wildlife. There are several endangered species here and the law is cats must stay on their own property. Syko alone could ensure several endangered species were extinct before the first week. Also if allowed out, he would cause a real commotion with the possum population and people would never sleep. Therefore, it is a good idea for cats to be within the property.
Syko and Nero’s friend, the Funny Cartoon Sausage Man, put together a compilation for you:
Enjoy!”

Just a follow up to date:
Took Syko & Nero to vet today… Went with friendly neighbor.
The vet said in her 7 years of dealing with animals had never known such aggressive pets. & asked if they were ‘ferrel’ - cheeky , my little angel cats are not ferrel, they sit on our laps, love to be stroked, & adore us.
Have to look for a new vet (& a new friendly neighbor).
Oh dear!! Are you going to have interview the vets first to find out if they’re up to Syko & Nero? Good to hear they’re fighting fit
Yay!
Do you know of any vets that aren’t wimps in Australia?!
Not only very good news…but what an EXCELLENT production and imagineering!
Carol is great with her animated slideshows – we’ve enjoyed a number of them now.
Brilliant – I love the happy ending stories. So nice that you get to hear from them.
It is super – especially when they’ve travelled so far and we haven’t delivered them into the owners hands ourselves.
Possibly two new film stars in the making!
Yes, we expect to see the Syko & Nero Show on air soon.
LOVE the video….do NOT like that this vet was so “short”….there’s a kind one out there somewhere….keep looking! ♥
You’re right – vets should be prepared for all animals. We’re sure there are more kind ones out there than not.
agree….maybe the vet was feral!
Ha yes! At the very least an intern still to learn bedside manners.
I got here too late. Everyone else already said what I would have!
Mez tooo’s..but I luv’s happy endins ) xx
Goodness…. Thank you so much for the kind comments and advice. Yes, I think a new vet is on the cards. The good news is, when we take them back to the UK, we will have no quarantine or separations to deal with. But at least we know we have Animal Couriers and Burntwood cattery and kennels near Heathrow if we need them in the UK, and we certainly recommend them. Great to see such a syko and nero following here….
Hi Carol – S&N have caught imaginations! Not having to go through that all again when you go back to the UK is such a relief and must give you great peace of mind. Good luck to the boys in their new caboodle – sounds like an eminently sensible arrangement.
What a precious video! Looks like Syko is aptly named?
Is that a Sloughi on your banner? The red dog with the awesome perked-up ears?
no dogs on the banners, just cats….
The photos post randomly in the banners. I hope you get to see the dog I was talking about. It is truly striking!
We’ve been trying to work out which header you mean, could it be this chap http://animalcouriers.wordpress.com/2010/06/18/and-so-it-came-to-pass/ ?
When ever we watch videos of Syko, we have that Talking Heads song going on in our minds
He’s a great fellow.
well, we are looking to adopt syko out as he has suddenly started to hate his brother. This was all caused by these massive stray cats around this area.
Of course we will look after him properly until a good home is found, we would even consider paying for him to go to a new home in UK if anyone is interested? Must be indoors, no other animals and no children, he must be the king of cuddles and talking…..
Would suit someone who lost a cat recently and wants a strong, loving, cuddly lap cat who will entertain forever……
