Seven months on, Syko and Nero are finally at home in Australia

After lengthy process of quarantine and flights that started in Oman and went via the UK, the Omani bin boys Syko and Nero have been reunited with Carol in Australia. From what Carol tells us, it sounds as though they settled in straight away:

“A big thank you to all who got Syko and Nero here to live with us in Australia. They have settled in well and in the space of 24 hours it was as though they were never away from us!

They have plenty of space including a ‘caboodle’ which lets them go outside through a cat flap but is encased in a cat net. This makes sure they do not decimate the local wildlife. There are several endangered species here and the law is cats must stay on their own property. Syko alone could ensure several endangered species were extinct before the first week. Also if allowed out, he would cause a real commotion with the possum population and people would never sleep. Therefore, it is a good idea for cats to be within the property.

Syko and Nero’s friend, the Funny Cartoon Sausage Man, put together a compilation for you:

Enjoy!”

  1. Just a follow up to date:
Took Syko & Nero to vet today… Went with friendly neighbor.
The vet said in her 7 years of dealing with animals had never known such aggressive pets. & asked if they were ‘ferrel’  - cheeky , my little angel cats are not ferrel, they sit on our laps, love to be stroked, & adore us.
Have to look for a new vet (& a new friendly neighbor).

  2. Goodness…. Thank you so much for the kind comments and advice. Yes, I think a new vet is on the cards. The good news is, when we take them back to the UK, we will have no quarantine or separations to deal with. But at least we know we have Animal Couriers and Burntwood cattery and kennels near Heathrow if we need them in the UK, and we certainly recommend them. Great to see such a syko and nero following here….

  3. Hi Carol – S&N have caught imaginations! Not having to go through that all again when you go back to the UK is such a relief and must give you great peace of mind. Good luck to the boys in their new caboodle – sounds like an eminently sensible arrangement.

  4. well, we are looking to adopt syko out as he has suddenly started to hate his brother. This was all caused by these massive stray cats around this area.
Of course we will look after him properly until a good home is found, we would even consider paying for him to go to a new home in UK if anyone is interested? Must be indoors, no other animals and no children, he must be the king of cuddles and talking…..
Would suit someone who lost a cat recently and wants a strong, loving, cuddly lap cat who will entertain forever……

We'd love to hear from you...
