Animalcouriers recently arranged for very beautiful cat Minksie to move from Brighton to Grand Cayman — but her journey was not as straightforward as it should have been.
A rabies blood test result has to be available before a Cayman Island import permit can be issued. Minksie’s vet in Brighton started the preparations, but unfortunately the blood sample went astray. So her very concerned owner, Niqui, had to leave Minksie with Animalcouriers to take over the preparations for her move to the sun.
So lovely, sociable Minksie boarded with us for rather longer than initially planned. Fortunately all’s well that ends well — Minksie and Niqui have now been reunited in the Caribbean. Niqui wrote to say:
“Thanks so much for looking after Minksie. It’s great to have her back. So many new and exciting (also scary) sounds on the island for her to get used to but she seems to be settling in. Wild chickens and big/loud storms (we’re on a tropical storm watch — may be upgraded to hurricane).”

So glad it all worked out in the end. What a thing for a cat to have to settle in with – tropical storms!
Yes, Minksie won’t have anything to compare that to!
Phew!
Yes, phew. Some jobs do get a drawn out by the bureaucracy
I bet that part of the job is tedious!
It can be thankless!
So pleased it all ended well, we live 1 hour from Brighton, I’d swop to go to Grand Cayman.:)
Have a great day
Mollie
Nah Mollie, we suggest you stay near Brighton – if you drink too much sea water there, imagine how much you might ingest in a tropical storm
Minksie is beautiful!
meow meow
She most certainly is =^..^=
What a great name!
We imagine it’s based on how her coat feels as she was anything but a minx.
So regal. Hope she settles in well to a very different environment. Looks like she’s getting lots of love to help with the adjustment.
It is going to be an interesting challenge for Minksie, as long as she’s with the people that matter we’re sure she’ll be delighted with her new environment
Glad to hear they are reunited.
A slight delay but all fine now
So glad she finally made it home! She is beautiful!
Isn’t she – and she has a lovely personality too!
Please take her to meet an iguana and learn to hide under the bed with her during bad weather
What a lovely idea – wonder what an iguana would make of her. Hiding under the bed sounds like the best place to be!
