When Louisa and Jonny were studying at Granada University on the Erasmus program, they found themselves adopting a skinny little kitten a tourist had found in a rubbish bin. Although they initially tried to find a good home for her, or an animal shelter that could take her, they were unsuccessful. And of course, as time went on, they started to fall in love with her.
So the two students decided to take the kitten, by now named Lola, back to the UK with them when their study period was up. They contacted Animalcouriers to find out how to go about it.
Louisa and Jonny have already returned to the UK, and Lola is now waiting at a small kennels and cattery in Mijas Costas. She settled in really quickly and loves nothing better than playing with her toys and having cuddles with the kennel staff.
Animalcouriers will collect Lola later this month for her journey to the UK.

I have never wanted to get a cat as much as I do now!
Isn’t she just gorgeous!
Is this Lola showgirl?
She seems to like an audience!
Her name is Lola, and she is definately a showgirl! I sang that song to her all the time!
Looking forward to having her home!
Louisa x
That’s a fine earworm you’ve given us! She is probably being serenaded with it now, knowing couriers S&L
Heehee, I hope they are, that would be quite a laugh! x
Yes she is!! When we were all in Granada with her she poses for the camera and gets your attention and does something cool!!
It angers me how many kitties are found in trash bins. You might be inclined to believe they got there looking for good eats and couldn’t get out. However, when they are kittens just mere days old, or in multiples down there in the waste… Nope, no accident. Our newest cat Lil’ Bit was a dumpster kitty, as were many of her predecessors. We have loved them all dearly. So glad that Lola has found a good forever home. ~ Lynda
Nope, you’re right – no kitten climbs into a trash bin looking for food. They are dumped. This little girl was very lucky.
What a sweetheart! She is so beautiful. Hope she enjoys the British weather!!

Ah, she’s young enough not to remember the heat for long!
I love it. Are you sure it’s not one of Gato’s relations? They look very similar! They could be pawpaws xxx
They look remarkably similar! How’s that fella doing?
Aw that’s luv-ly
Cooool pad Lola is stayin at ! and she’s soooo cute
Mollie x
She does look very comfy and happy in her surroundings
She’s so beautiful!
Very – such lovely markings.
Lola is very cute and that was very nice of these two students to adopt her =^.^=
We suspect Louisa and Johnny had no intention of starting an animal family quite so soon
They’ve done a very fine thing.
