A sample of Turkey’s urban flora and fauna

We spotted wild flowers, insects, and even some tadpoles on our morning walk.

Flowers and seed heads

Is that a cabbage white?

Poppies and litter

Any idea what this insect is?

Not morning glories, but glorious in the morning sun

A broad sweep of flowers

Big daisies

A prickly thing!

Tadpoles fighting for survival — we hope the water doesn’t dry up before they get their legs!

  1. Those morning glories look a lot like things we call “bindweed”. They wrap around everything and are an impossible struggle to eradicate. I think I need new glasses. Never could find the insect.

    • Erm, they are one and the same thing! Courier J must feel that in an neglected urban setting they might have a beauty which is beyond a gardener’s ability to perceive ;-)
The insect is perhaps a dragonfly (photo above the ‘bindweed’) but a magnifying glass is certainly needed :D

We'd love to hear from you...
